Position Overview: As a Data Lake Architect specializing in Google Cloud Platform, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data lake infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient storage, processing, and analysis of large-scale data sets, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Architect and Design:
• Design end-to-end data lake solutions on the Google Cloud Platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
2. Implementation:
• Led the implementation of data lake solutions, including data storage, data processing, and data integration components on GCP.
• Implement security and access controls to protect sensitive data within the data lake.
3. Optimization:
• Continuously optimize and tune the data lake infrastructure for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Implement best practices for data governance, metadata management, and data quality.
4. Integration:
• Integrate data lake solutions with other components of the data ecosystem, such as data warehouses, analytics tools, and data pipelines.
5. Collaboration:
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure the data lake meets their needs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Data Lake Architect with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
3. In-depth knowledge of GCP services, including Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, Dataflow, Data prep, and related technologies.
4. Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, SQL) for data processing and automation.
5. Experience with data modeling, metadata management, and data governance best practices.
6. Familiarity with security and compliance standards for data storage and processing on GCP.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications in Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Professional Data Engineer) would be a plus.
